Our Agenda
Our cities have invested heavily in first responders, imbedded social workers, and other innovative public safety strategies. We will continue to pursue these and other local strategies.
But we will also be pursuing other changes in the criminal justice system, including:
More funding for both law enforcement and social services
More resources and tools to address the fallout from the Blake decision that decriminalized nearly all drug possession, including possible legislative fixes.
Criminal justice reforms to allow officers to fully use their training, experience and judgement in the field
More transparency among prosecutors and judges regarding charging decisions, bail, convictions and sentencing
